Huawei plans to invest $6M in South African SMEs in the next 3 years

Huawei South Africa has announced its $5.8 million (R100-million) Cloud Spark programme which the company claims will support more than 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) over the next 3 years.

Brazilian proptech startup Loft, which was valued at $2.9B last year, lays off 380 employees

Last year, Loft acquired a Mexico City-based startup, TrueHome, and entered that market in what it described as the “start” of its international expansion. The company had become the real estate e-commerce platform with the highest revenue in emerging markets outside China.

Google Again Delays Third-Party Cookie Deprecation

Procrastinators of the world can throw a party whenever they get around to it: Google has once more pushed back complete third-party cookie deprecation.  The new target is “early next year.” Reasons for the delay include concerns expressed by U.K. data regulator Information Commissioner’s Office, an ongoing inquiry by the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority, and widespread discontent in the advertising ecosystem.
