IgnitionOne Liquidates Its Business

The bad news: adtech vendor and erstwhile CDP IgnitionOne is going out of business. There was no formal announcement but creditors and investors have been notified that the company is selling its assets to help pay its debts. More evidence of adtech’s deepening woes.

Customer Experience Leaders Listen to Customers: Medallia Report

This Medallia study isn’t packed with obvious results but holds a few good nuggets. Customer experience leaders are more likely to use multiple digital listening tools, to be “relentless” about using feedback to drive action, and to hold multiple departments responsible for CX. Less obvious: marketing ranked sixth and head of CX ranked seventh in CX responsibility. CEO, chief revenue officer, and head of account management were most often responsible.

Disney and OpenAI Reach Licensing Agreement for Sora

Disney has agreed to license more than 200 characters, costumes, and environments (but not voices or talent likenesses) to OpenAI for Sora, its gen AI video platform. This is highly unusual for Disney, which generally sues AI models for copyright infringement; in fact, it sued Google for that a day before announcing the OpenAI deal. Disney will also invest $1 billion in OpenAI, nicely illustrating how very eager they are to join the AI party.
