Data management tech vendor Informatica has always sold a basket of products, so unbundled pricing is their natural state. They’ve just announced plans to add data security and privacy vendor Privatar to the collection. Price wasn’t announced and expected close is before October.
mParticle has a new pricing model that charges different amounts depending on how data is used and stored and on which system features are employed. It’s a departure from the usual CDP approach of charging based on the number of user profiles, but calling it “revolutionary” might be a bit much. Think of it as part of the industry trend to offer CDP functions as separate components.
The European Union continues to fill the global vacuum in tech regulation. The latest step is a warning to Google that the EU plans to force it to break up parts of its advertising business to prevent continued abuses of its dominant position. There are similar anti-trust actions in the U.S. but they are moving slowly.
Salesforce’s Dreamforce mega-conference is next week and the company’s publicity elves are already working overtime. In the first of what are sure to be daily announcements this week, the company announced 100+ industry-specific prompts, data models, and AI capabilities across its fifteen industry clouds. It also launched an AI Use Case Library to house its industry-specific AI offerings.
