ITN and Magnite are partnering to give advertisers programmatic access to local linear TV. Magnite’s ClearLine platform will provide the inventory, while ITN will give buyers advanced campaign management. Programmatic ad buying is the norm for web advertising but uncommon for linear TV.
Twilio has agreed to acquire Stytch, which calls itself an “identity platform for humans and AI agents.” Twilio plans to use Stytch to create unified identities across channels for both AI agents and humans, as well as identify rogue agents to prevent fraud in real time. Twilio also owns the Segment CDP.
Perplexity and Getty Images have announced a multi-year licensing agreement allowing Perplexity to display images from Getty in its answers. Perplexity says it will “better educate users on how to use licensed imagery legally” by including image credit with a link to the source. This could mitigate accusations of plagiarism like it’s faced in the past.
Meta has announced agreements with USA Today, People Inc., and other news publishers to pay for access to their content and link to their articles in its AI chatbot. It’s a sharp contrast to Perplexity, which the Chicago Tribune and New York Times are separately suing for allegedly scraping content and bypassing paywalls. Despite this deal, Meta apparently still opposes compensating publishers for news links in social media posts.
