Kibo Purchases Monetate to Expand Personalization Capabilities

Cloud commerce platform Kibo has bought personalization vendor Monetate, complementing its acquisition of Certona in February. Kibo was formed in 2015 by Vista Equity Partners by combining several other commerce systems.

Most U.S. Retailers Have 50+ Systems with Consumer Data: Deloitte Study

More than half (62%) of U.S. retailers have more than 50 systems holding consumer data, according to this Deloitte study. Yikes! Less surprising: just 22% have integrated data privacy plans with business strategy. Not surprising at all: 86% of consumers believe they should be able to opt out of sales of their data while 47% feel they have little to no control over it. Or should we be surprised it’s just 47%?

Interpublic Group Launches Precision Targeting Business Based on Acxiom Acquisition

Marketers hire agencies when they lack in-house skills. Eying the martech talent gap, Interpublic Group spent $2 billion last year to purchase data-driven marketing services company Acxiom. They’ve now launched Kinesso, which will rely on Acxiom to create applications that use data to improve media results. Kinesso will also incorporate Cadreon, Interpublic’s addressable media activation unit.

Zeta Global to Buy LiveIntent for $250 Million

October 9, 2024

CDP and marketing cloud vendor Zeta Global announced an agreement to purchase LiveIntent, which helps companies do email-based advertising.  The deal will let Zeta expand its identity graph, enter the publisher monetization business, and accelerate its mobile and retail media products.  Zeta will pay $77.5 million in cash and $172.5 million in common stock, with potential for additional payments based on performance.
