Teleport, the logistics venture under Malaysia-based Capital A Berhad (formerly known as AirAsia Group Berhad), has raised new growth capital of $50 million from large institutional credit investors to extend its cross-border delivery capabilities in all key Southeast Asian markets.
The breach was not the result of hacking, but of what the company has called a “misalignment of databases,” and which allowed customer data to be published online. The company has 18.8 million customers, which is equivalent to about three-quarters of the country’s population, and it has reported that 132,000 customers had their data exposed.
Inflated prices of goods are causing Southeast Asian consumers to reduce their expenditures this year. At the same time, online shopping has not been spared by inflation and digital spend in the region has also been impacted this year.
It’s tough to get brand safety right, but the industry keeps trying. IPG Mediabrands announced a new set of tools to find and block inappropriate ad placements, while IAS expanded its suitability measurements to include standards from the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM). Meanwhile, DoubleVerify admitted a mistake made brand safety on X/Twitter look worse than it really was in October 2023 and March 2024.
