Meta Knowingly Earns Billions in Fraudulent Ads

According to internal Meta documents seen by Reuters, Meta projected it would earn 10.1% of its 2024 revenue ($16 billion) from scams and other banned ads. While Meta has automated systems that flag fraudulent ads, they require a 95% level of certainty of fraud before banning an advertiser. Meta claims the true number of revenue earned from fraud is lower but declined to provide a better figure.
