Microsoft Mash-Up Yields Customer Experience Platform

Microsoft has announced its Customer Experience Platform, which includes a collection of existing Microsoft products including their CDP, the catchily-named Dynamics 365 Customer Insights.   Other components offer data governance, machine learning, website analytics, journey orchestration, ad campaigns, ecommerce, sales and service.  It’s not clear what’s actually new here, although there may be more prebuilt integrations than before.

They now include a wide range of data capture, unification, analysis, and interaction capabilities, which they just packaged as Medallia Digital Suite. Netherlands-based retention management platform Retail Rocket just raised a $24 Million Series A, and immediately spent some of it to buy Sailplay, a New York-based marketing automation vendor that will grow its U.S. presence.  Retail Rocket builds unified customer profiles in a module it charmingly calls Data Warehouse, and has other modules for AI-driven personalization, segmentation, and campaign management.  The company has more than 1,000 global clients across Europe and South America.
