MindTickle Raises $40 Million Series C to Train People

The CDP industry continued its rapid growth and even more rapid evolution, according to the latest semi-annual Industry Update from the CDP Institute. Record funding, expansion outside the U.S., and a new class of “operational” CDP vendors were just part of the excitement. You can imagine the rest or download the report.
SugarCRM is also touting unified data, in the form of its new “Intelligent Customer Experience platform, which unifies disparate data into a single ‘time aware’ customer data model.” It just announced platform-based applications for marketing automation, sales automation, and customer service and will likely add others in the future. They don’t call their platform a CDP although it might qualify.
The build-vs-buy debate never ends, and sometimes build really makes sense. But buy is clearly the way to bet: just 17% of martech replacement projects chose a homegrown solution this year, according to this MarTech survey. That’s down from 31% the year before. CDPs were among the least common replacements, maybe because they’re awesome and maybe because most CDP implementations are fairly new. Download for more fun facts.
