Remember GDPR? Just 27% of EU firms and 12% of U.S. firms met the May 25 compliance deadline but 76% and 68% respectively expect to comply by the end of 2018. When asked why they were complying, 54-59% cited customer expectations compared with 39-41% citing partner demands or fear of legal action.
Salesforce.com is buying Datorama, a CDP focused on marketing measurement and optimization. The price was reportedly over $800 million. The deal is the first acquisition of a CDP by one of the major marketing cloud vendors. Salesforce cited “expanded data integration and intelligence” as the benefits.
Unacast tracks the locations of mobile devices (and, implicitly, their owners). TVadSync tracks the TV ads that devices (and their owners) are exposed to and sends retargeting campaigns to them. TVadSync has now integrated Unacast data so it can also relate retail store visits to TV ads and retargeting campaigns.
Salesforce has reversed course on its bid to acquire data management and integration platform Informatica a source has told Reuters. Informatica itself said that it is not in talks to be acquired. Salesforce stocks rose on this latest news while Informatica’s fell.
