Neustar Adds Cross-Channel Identity Resolution Services

There are so many companies offering cookie-free identification solutions that I may just stop treating their announcements as news. But for now let’s report that Neustar has launched Fabrik, a unified identity “ecosystem” drawing on Neustart’s proprietary huge cache of cross-channel customer identity matches. So long as you have one personal identifier, Neustar can connect that with other IDs for the same individual. Applications include individual-level targeting, personalization, data enrichment, and media measurement.

Adobe Bans Political Ads from Advertising Cloud

So, the #StopHateForProfit Facebook ad boycott happened with no meaningful impact on the company’s revenue but what our friends at The New York Times call “reputational harm”. Arguably more significant, Adobe announced it will join Twitter in banning all political ads in its Advertising Cloud. Not that were many to start with, but it’s another talking point for people who argue that ineffectively governed political advertising is worse than none at all.

Advertima Raises $17 Million for Retail Computer Vision

Whatever you call the opposite of a trend, the term applies to the struggling world of in-store retail. That has to make things tough for computer vision specialist Advertima, which tracks shoppers as they move through physical space. Of course, they prefer to see opportunities, such as grab-and-go shopping without paying at a register. Somebody agrees, since they just raised $17 million, raising their total funding to $26 million.

Salesforce Buys Airkit.ai for Automated Customer Service

Salesforce is buying Airkit.ai, which builds low-code, AI-powered e-commerce customer service agents.  You might have thought Salesforce could already do that, but presumably Airkit does it better.  It doesn’t hurt that the company founders sold a previous business to Salesforce, the company was partly funded by Salesforce Ventures, and the product is already listed on AppExchange.  Price was not announced.
