Oh the irony: just after we removed Reltio from our list of Customer Data Platforms, they renamed their product as Connected Customer 360 and positioned themselves as a system to deliver customer experiences. Their roots in master data management are still showing but maybe they’re a CDP after all. We’ll take a closer look.
BlueVenn has added an integrated email engine to its CDP, or more properly to the Omnichannel Marketing Hub it sells alongside its CDP. It thus joins the ranks of CDP vendors offering delivery capabilities. Users will still have the option to connect to other email systems, or BlueVenn wouldn’t be a CDP at all.
Facebook faces no immediate existential threat but the Hitwise news must still cause a tiny shiver somewhere in its icy soul. They published a white paper today trying to guide regulatory discussion in a favorable direction, mostly asking for rules that mimic the way they already do business. Because they’re doing a great job, right?
It’s tough to get brand safety right, but the industry keeps trying. IPG Mediabrands announced a new set of tools to find and block inappropriate ad placements, while IAS expanded its suitability measurements to include standards from the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM). Meanwhile, DoubleVerify admitted a mistake made brand safety on X/Twitter look worse than it really was in October 2023 and March 2024.
