Singapore e-commerce startup Cococart raises $4.2M from Forerunner Ventures and Sequoia Capital for overseas expansion

Cococart, a Singapore-based e-commerce startup, announced that it has secured $4.2 million in seed funding to expand its growth internationally. The new funding raised will be used to grow the team, accelerate product development, and expand to other countries.

The Trade Desk and LiveRamp Working on GDPR-Compliant User IDs

You have to admire the tenacity of adtech folk trying to salvage their ability to target individuals.  The Trade Desk and LiveRamp have announced a plan work with Eureopan partners to build a GDPR-complaint identity solution, EUID.  The foundations will be LiveRamp’s RampID and The Trade Desk-developed Unified ID 2.0.  In theory, it’s all based on consented, first-party data, but newly-aggressive European regulators may take a closer look than they have in the past.

YouTube Home to Hundreds of Election Misinformation Videos

Misleading election-related ads are “running rampant” on Meta-owned Facebook, but Google-owned YouTube is also making money from misinformation. Research by Media Matters, independently confirmed by the New York Times, found 30 YouTube channels that between them had posted almost 300 videos containing misinformation which had earned some 47 million views. YouTube is monetizing them with ads and sharing revenue with the creators.  YouTube says election-denial falsehoods don’t violate its guidelines.
