South Korea’s largest internet company Naver Corp has inked a deal to acquire Poshmark, Inc., a United States-listed social e-commerce marketplace for new and secondhand style, for approximately $1.2 billion.
Australian logistics company Shippit has acquired Singapore-based tech developer Luwjistik in a US$11.3 million deal. Following the acquisition, Shippit will double down on growth in Southeast Asia by leveraging Luwjistik’s tech, expertise, and local network.
Foodology, which a year ago had its Series A for US$15 million, just announced a new round of US $50 million. The company is one of the most important startups that operate dark kitchens in the region, and pop star Maluma is one of the investors. “Ask Meta AI anything” is what you now see instead of the traditional search bar across Meta apps such as Facebook and Instagram. Meta AI will still perform the basic search function but will also answer questions and chat with you. It should hardly be a surprise when a tech company launches a genAI solution these days but this is a bold challenge to Google and Open.ai (it’s also available as a standalone tool at Meta.ai).
