Social media management platform Sprout Social is buying Tagger Media, an influencer marketing and social intelligence vendor, for $140 million. Tagger was founded in 2015 and had raised $23.5 million.
Contact center vendor Five9 has purchased Aceyus, a tool that collects data from multiple sources and makes it available for real-time analytics and personalized experiences. This might land them in CDP territory, but we’d have to look more closely. Price was reported as $82 million.
Facebook is being required by the EU to offer its users consent for behavioral ad targeting. The change comes after regulators decided that consent is the only acceptable basis for targeting based on consumer data. UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) wants to know why Facebook won’t afford the same privacy options to those in the UK and elsewhere.
Customer engagement platform Twilio has integrated with OpenAI’s Realtime API to enable Twilio customers and developers to build AI-powered conversational apps. The integration will support the creation of speech-to-speech voice conversations featuring AI agents. This is an expansion of existing Twilio/OpenAI integrations.
