Fewer than twenty of the hundred-plus firms calling themselves CDPs are worthy of the name, according to a report from Winterberry Group. Alas, they don’t say which twenty. They do criticize CDP Institute positions without having spoken to us. And they “don’t see a long-term opportunity for a standalone CDP”. See this blog post for the Institute’s reply.
Oracle is improving integration between components of its marketing cloud. Announcements at its Modern Customer Experience conference include new integrations of Eloqua marketing automation with Infinity Web analytics, Data Cloud audience management and Data Fox compiled data; integration of Responsys email with Web personalization, and real-time triggers in Infinity.
Finally, India-based Affle has purchased Singapore-based Shoffr, which exposes retail inventories to mobile apps or Web sites. Affle sells a customer engagement platform used mostly to serve mobile ads.
Enterprise AI vendor Uniphore has acquired CDP ActionIQ and cloud data engineering system Infoworks. The combination of products will create a Zero Data AI Cloud that simplifies AI deployments by enabling companies to access data for AI projects without moving it from existing systems. Prices were not announced.
