TikTok is reportedly laying off staff from its trust and safety unit that provides content moderation. The layoffs will initially affect teams in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Meanwhile, it has been signalling confidence in its business outside the U.S., adding commerce and livestream shopping in other regions.
Amazon will offer new page-level reporting for its DSP through its Traffic Events API in addition to its existing site-level reporting. The aim is to heighten brand safety controls. The move follows criticism of Amazon, Google and other vendors for allowing ads to appear on sites containing child sexual abuse material.
Adobe announced plans for Real-Time CDP Collaboration last spring and this week announced its general availability in the U.S. (although it gave the strong impression that it was generally available last December). Essentially a data clean room, the appeal of Collaboration is that it is integrated with Adobe’s CDP. Interoperability enables the connection of data across select partners such as AWS and The Trade Desk as well as the activation of audiences created in Adobe Experience Platform.
Preliminary findings by the European Commission state that Apple and Google are in violation of the EU’s Digital Markets Act. Among the findings, Google Search is accused of prioritizing Google’s own products and services in results; Apple is instructed to improve interoperability between iOS and third-party devices. The companies now have an opportunity to respond.
