While it might be nice to pass a law protecting kids and have it stick, business champion and Big Tech defender, NetChoice often takes issue with that. In the case of Mississippi’s House Bill 1126, which required digital service providers to verify user age and gain parental permission, NetChoice won its appeal to prohibit prosecution of Meta, X and other tech companies.
In Tennessee, however, NetChoice lost its bid to block Tennessee’s Protecting Children from Social Media Act which prohibits social media companies from allowing minors under 18 to create accounts without parental consent.
