Palantir wedded to US Government with US citizen data as dowry

With no expense spared, promises of untold riches, and a dream of total surveillance, the Trump administration and Palantir have pledged their troth. This to form a perfect union of US citizen data from department to department, coast to coast. Palantir’s Foundry product was just sold to the Department of Defense to organize and analyze data…and likely to build out detailed personal profiles on pretty much everyone.

GDPR too much time, trouble to comply?? Hang on, EU legislators may fix that

Four million, seventy-three thousand, four hundred minutes can seem an eternity focusing on privacy when businesses want to put profits first. Apparently, that’s what the last nine years felt like to many who are determinedly lobbying the EU Commission for a break. Reports are these GDPR naysayers may get wishes granted, if, as privacy activists fear, Brussels bends to lobbying pressure.

Does AI have a sense of humor? The US may find out if its “One Big Beautiful Bill” clears the Senate

Really, what’s ten years give or take, holding off legislation to control AI? And, why would we want to? Trump’s trumpeted and, to many, alarming, “One Big Beautiful Bill” is now headed to the Senate. Bundled inside is language saying no state or local government may enforce regulatory control over AI for a decade. If AI isn’t able to laugh yet, this might push it over the edge.
