OpenAI, parent company of ChatGPT, announced it will add safety features for underage users, including segmenting by inferred age range and disabling the ability to prompt ChatGPT into flirtation mode or engage in conversation about self-harm or suicide. And, while it’s worth questioning why that’s beneficial for adult users, it’s at least a glimmer of responsible action. Meta, meanwhile (and, also responding to pressure) is making its Teen Accounts features available globally to teens on Facebook and Messenger.
Mastercard has unveiled Mastercard Commerce Media, its new digital media network that can attribute conversion to in-store and online purchases. The network features a 25,000-advertiser base and reach to 500 million enrolled customers. A “growing collaboration” with WPP allows connection to traditional media.
