LinkedIn has filed a lawsuit against ProAPIs Inc and Netswift for allegedly scraping LinkedIn data via an “industrial-scale fake account mill.” According to LinkedIn, the companies rent out their services for thousands of dollars a month. The data scraped includes information on members, companies, and schools.
Oracle has announced new role-based AI agents within Fusion Cloud Customer Experience. For marketing, the new agents include Account Product Fit based on ideal customer profiles and Buying Group Definition based on a title-mapping algorithm. On the sales side, there’s Product Recommendations for cross-sell and upsell, as well as Quote Assistant and Quote Summaries.
The UK government is ordering Apple to allow access to private data (at least on users who are British citizens) when the government deems it important for national security. This new attempt to force Apple’s hand comes after a judge said talks on the UK’s previous order (which had proposed the UK have data access on users from anywhere in the world) could not be conducted secretly, Apple, the US government and privacy advocates strongly opposed when the UK wanted this before.
American Express is the latest company to make its customer data available in a retail media network. Amex Ads provides contextual targeting based on extensive first-party data, as well as ad measurement for online and offline sales. The program is currently available on AmexTravel.com and will expand to other platforms in the future.
