Security researchers found a major security flaw in India’s income tax portal in September that potentially exposed sensitive personal data to anyone who logged into the system and searched for another person’s data. It’s unknown how many, if any, records were compromised before the bug was fixed.

Data movement platform Fivetran (which bought the Census CDP in May) has announced a merger with dbt Labs, a data transformation framework. Together, the companies will automate data management without being restricted to a single model. They call this “open data infrastructure.”
