TechCrunch report reveals Stalkerware network harvests private data

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is urging the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate a major security flaw found in white label Android spyware apps. These apps, often marketed for use for child-tracking or monitoring employees, have also been used by domestic abusers to spy on ex- or current partners. The security concern was raised by TechCrunch, which reported that this stalkerware network was monitoring 400,000 people around the world.
