ServiceNow Buys UltimateSuite for Task Mining

Digital workflow company ServiceNow is buying task mining software company UltimateSuite. The deal will make it easier for users to identify tasks to automate.  It follows previous acquisitions by ServiceNow of data integration vendor G2K in May 2023 and AI experts Element AI in November 2020.

Adobe Pays $1 Billion to Abandon Figma Merger

It may take a while for BigTech to realize that global regulators are not as deferential as they used to be.  Adobe just learned that the hard way – with a tuition of $1 billion in termination fees – when it agreed with Figma to abandon their proposed merger.  “Thousands of hours spent with regulators around the world” couldn’t convince authorities that their product design products are not competitive, and never could be.

Amperity Launches New Lakehouse Offering

Amperity has launched Lakehouse CDP,  which delivers CDP functions within “lakehouse” data stores including Snowflake and Databricks.  Amperity tools for data modeling, data quality, identity resolution, generative AI, segmentation, and performance measurement will send all results to a company’s own lakehouse rather than a separate Amperity-managed database. Modules can be used independently but the real benefit here is that Amperity is one of the few “composable” CDP vendors who offer a complete set of pre-integrated CDP functions.
