The European Union has announced new probes into major tech companies investigating non-compliance with the Digital Markets Act. The investigations raise questions about Google self-preferencing in search results, anti-competitive practices related to Google Play and the Apple App Store and Meta’s “pay or consent” model. Penalties can reflect up to 10% of global turnover.
Median salaries for marketers are around $100K with marketing operations doing slightly better at $130K; promotions continue to arrive fast, according to a survey of over 300 marketers by publisher MarTech. Comscore has announced that it has received Media Rating Council accreditation for national and local TV household-level measurement. Comscore is now the only measurement company accredited for its local TV measurement. Nielsen’s local TV accreditation was suspended in 2021 and remains under review.
Amperity has launched Lakehouse CDP, which delivers CDP functions within “lakehouse” data stores including Snowflake and Databricks. Amperity tools for data modeling, data quality, identity resolution, generative AI, segmentation, and performance measurement will send all results to a company’s own lakehouse rather than a separate Amperity-managed database. Modules can be used independently but the real benefit here is that Amperity is one of the few “composable” CDP vendors who offer a complete set of pre-integrated CDP functions.
