GrowSari, a local B2B platform in the Philippines aimed at serving local mom-and-pop stores in the country, has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with global investment firm KKR where KKR will be investing US$45 million to GrowSari to support its national expansion, as well as strengthen its financial service capabilities.

The name change reflects the Group’s new core business strategy as an investment holding company with a portfolio of synergistic travel and lifestyle businesses, which have rapidly transformed the AirAsia brand into much more than just an airline. The group aims to transform from an airline into a one-stop digital travel and lifestyle services group.
ShowHeroes Group, a video and contextual targeting tech provider based in Europe, announced its acquisition of cross-screen ad platform smartclip LATAM. The rationale behind the deal is to help ShowHeroes Group bring its solution to the US and Latin American markets. The deal price is just under eight figures, although ShowHeroes declined to share the exact amount.
Martech keeps taking larger bites out of marketing budgets: 17.3% last year, 19.9% this year, 23.5% next year, and 30.9% five years from now, according to the latest CMO Survey. This despite barely more than half (56.4%) of current tools being used and nearly half (48.8%) of the survey respondents reporting worse-than-expected results. Oddly enough, marketers rate selecting marketing technologies as the thing they do best.
