Tray.io also plays in the integration sandbox, although they’re more focused on automation than process automation than data management.  They tick the buzzword boxes for low-code, cloud-based, and digital transformation.  If that’s not worth a $40 million extension to their $50 million Series C, then what is?

Optus’ recent data hack prompts Australian government to move on “urgent” privacy reforms

Australia’s Attorney-General has said the government will make “urgent reforms” to the country’s Privacy Act following the Optus breach, where the company was blamed for lax security, resulting in the theft of nearly 10 million customer records. Resulting fines for that could reach as high as 2 million Australian dollars ($1.3 million). Certainly, it has put increased pressure on the government, which has been in process reviewing its privacy laws for several years, and now stated it may move on this within the next month.

Amperity Launches New Lakehouse Offering

Amperity has launched Lakehouse CDP,  which delivers CDP functions within “lakehouse” data stores including Snowflake and Databricks.  Amperity tools for data modeling, data quality, identity resolution, generative AI, segmentation, and performance measurement will send all results to a company’s own lakehouse rather than a separate Amperity-managed database. Modules can be used independently but the real benefit here is that Amperity is one of the few “composable” CDP vendors who offer a complete set of pre-integrated CDP functions.
