It works with website shopper behavior data, which it can track over time without capturing customer identities. The system can also use data imported from a CDP or other system if customers do identify themselves.
A ruling by Italy’s Data Protection Agency (DPA) that prohibits use of facial recognition technology (FRT) is receiving mixed reviews from privacy advocates, including concern it may set a broader EU precedent. This is due to a caveat in the ruling that FRT can still be used for crime fighting and judicial investigations. Germany publishing giant Axel Springer is trading access to its data for Microsoft adtech, AI, and Azure hosting solutions. Meanwhile, The Financial Times has struck a deal with OpenAI to license its content with attribution of summaries and quotes.
