The first is a long-awaited ruling from the Court of Justice of the European Union, which rejects Meta’s justifications for processing personal data for advertising without explicit consent. We’ll see how it plays out but this strikes at the heart of Meta’s business model.
The agreement gives telecom company, Telstra the ability to offer voice-only and voice plus to their customers in remote areas by replacing copper lines with Starlink Satellite rooftop connections. The launch is expected late 2023.
A California Superior Court judge has delayed enforcement of the latest set of California Privacy Rights Act regulations until March 2024. The rules were otherwise scheduled to go into effect last weekend. The extension gives businesses a full year to get ready for compliance from the date the regulations were finalized in March 2023.
Retail and hospitality customer engagement platform Givex has added the ability to create comprehensive customer profiles that include interaction data from other systems. The new product, GivexEngageAI, also develops customer segments, executes marketing campaigns, and recommends next best actions. The company refers to it as a CDP and it does appear to tick all of our boxes.
