Google Cloud Offers On-site Retail Search Service

Google Cloud has released Retail Search, a managed service that provides on-site search functions for retail websites.  Google says it will do a better job than other search functions of understanding customer intent and returning appropriate product suggestions.  It’s part of Google’s Product Discovery Solutions for Retail suite.

Comscore Adds Cookie-Free Contextual Targeting Based on First-Party Data

Comscore’s cookieless audience solution is adding the ability to use clients’ own customer data as a basis for targeting. Working with Experian, InfoSum, and LiveRamp, Comscore will ingest client’s customer profiles, identify content consumed by those profiles, and then buy ads near similar content. It’s a flavor of look-alike targeting that’s based on content similarity not personal profiles.

Large Organizations Use Average of 367 Applications: Forrester Report

I can’t bring myself to lead with yet another generative AI story, so we’ll start instead with this Forrester report for Airtable, which found that organizations have lots of software applications.  The average is 367 in use at large organizations, with teams using an average of 45 daily and individuals using an average of 52 weekly.  No surprise here but a good reminder of why data integration is so important.
