IBM Makes Watson Services Available in Private Clouds

IBM has its own improvements to announce, notably options to deploy several Watson AI services in private cloud environments. That matters because many companies still don’t trust public cloud with their data. Coincidentally, Lexalytics also just made all of its AI-based text analysis tools available for on-premises and private cloud deployment. Lexalytics reports that its on-premises business has grown twice as fast as its public cloud offering.

Merkle Offers Entry-Level Unified Customer View

Database marketing agency Merkle has launched an “entry-level data management offering” that integrates multiple data sources and makes the results available for analysis. The company stresses that Rapid Audience Layer falls short of a full-scale customer database. It does data hygiene and identity resolution to build a unified customer view but is limited to structured inputs and analytical reporting.

Amperity Launches New Lakehouse Offering

Amperity has launched Lakehouse CDP,  which delivers CDP functions within “lakehouse” data stores including Snowflake and Databricks.  Amperity tools for data modeling, data quality, identity resolution, generative AI, segmentation, and performance measurement will send all results to a company’s own lakehouse rather than a separate Amperity-managed database. Modules can be used independently but the real benefit here is that Amperity is one of the few “composable” CDP vendors who offer a complete set of pre-integrated CDP functions.
