Tech industry group NetChoice has succeeded in getting a temporary block on an Ohio law meant to protect children. The law, which a federal judge has ruled unconstitutional, would require social media companies to get parental consent when children under age 16 wanted to create a new social media accounts. This is similar to blocks on laws in Arkansas and California.
Customer data and marketing platform ONEcount is teaming up with cloud software provider Upland and Specialized Fulfillment Services to offer an integrated “best-of-breed” CX suite. ONEcount will be providing 360 degree customer data and its ID graph, Upland will be contributing its PostUp email marketing software and SFS brings a range of tools including payment processing. Importantly, the three vendors will also be integrating their customer support, aiming at a “one vendor” feel.
A U.S. district court judge has ruled that Google acted to create illegal monopolies in online advertising technology in a way that blocked competition and allowed higher ad prices to be charged. Google will appeal; meantime, the government will decide what to ask the court to do to remedy the monopoly. Google also faces a new U.K. antitrust lawsuit over its dominance of search.
