The dating apps pulled advertising after tests conducted by the Wall Street Journal and The Canadian Centre for Child Protection found major ad brand ads could be served alongside sexually explicit images. Other brands affected include Disney, Pizza Hut, and Walmart.
The first was for a curb on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) oversight of the platform’s privacy policies and the second was to block the FTC from questioning Elon Musk, who owns X Corp.
They didn’t call it a CDP, but Meta just launched a product to “connect your first-party data from any sources to any destination, streamlining your data handling processes and unlocking valuable insights to optimize your marketing campaigns.” The name of this miracle cure is Signals Gateway, and pricing seems to start at $30 per month. Data is hosted in Amazon Web Services and, at least in theory, Meta can’t see it.
