Children’s Privacy: Children’s privacy class-action case dismissed for now

The class action against YouTube, Hasbro and others for alleged children’s privacy abuses has been dismissed because the plaintiffs’ lawyers opted not to refile. The case could now go to appellate court.

Google fires employees for data misuse; Facebook misuses privacy decree to shut down ad research

Leaked documents have revealed that Google fired dozens of employees between 2018 and 2020 for company data misuse, including leaking, stealing, or abusing data of users or other employees. Martech Spending Grows as Percentage of Marketing Budget: CMO Survey

Martech keeps taking larger bites out of marketing budgets: 17.3% last year, 19.9% this year, 23.5% next year, and 30.9% five years from now, according to the latest CMO Survey. This despite barely more than half (56.4%) of current tools being used and nearly half (48.8%) of the survey respondents reporting worse-than-expected results. Oddly enough, marketers rate selecting marketing technologies as the thing they do best.
