Closer to home, Toronto-based AdParlor develops social and video advertising technologies. Offerings include a dashboard, targeting engine, automated analytics, and anonymized audience creation from CRM data. AdParlor’s latest trick is Intelligence Tags, which automatically scans social ads, including text and videos, and identifies features such as product, background, color, copy, and image content. The system stores these as tags and then analyzes them to identify which elements perform best. It currently works with Facebook and Instagram and will soon add Pinterest and Snapchat. Automated tagging is a big deal because the alternative is to do the tagging manually or, more likely, not at all.
