Connected TV Overtakes Mobile in Share of Video Ads Served: Extreme Reach Report

Remember when being “mobile first” seemed so important? That is so 2018. Connected TV (CTV) devices are now where it’s at, according to ad asset management vendor Extreme Reach. Their latest report shows that CTV served more video ad impressions (44%) than mobile devices (30%) in the final quarter of 2018. The mobile share actually peaked in Q4 2017 at 39%, when the CTV share was just 16%.

Turbo Systems Lets Business Users Build Enterprise Applications

According to the company, it has the “potential to disrupt the very nature of how applications are built, managed, and consumed” by enabling users with ”zero developer expertise” to create “dynamic, highly personalized enterprise applications” on top of existing ERP, CRM, and human resources systems. I’m skeptical. Then again, the company has raised $8 million to fund the revolution.

Microsoft Lets Publishers Block Bing Chat Separately from Bing Search

Nearly one-third of major news publishers have blocked generative AI tools from reading their content.   But that’s a drastic measure which could also exclude their results from conventional search engines.  Microsoft has just given publishers the option to block access by Bing Chat without also removing their content from search results.  We’ll see if competitors do the same.
