Galactic Exchange Announces DataEnchilada™

I’ll admit that headline grabbed my attention. Whether DataEnchilada is truly the “first big data ingestion tool powered by artificial intelligence” is questionable but the product is interesting either way. Galactic Exchange automates loading of data from common sources into Spark/Hadoop clusters. Their latest extension automatically finds topics within data streams, identifies common patterns in each stream, and issues alerts if there’s a deviation from the pattern. All with little or no technical skill required from the user. This is exactly the sort of technology that lets Customer Data Platforms deliver fast, low cost, low skill data unification. Galactic Exchange lists it under the vision of Zero Experience Needed Architecture, or ZEN. Indeed.

Looker Loads Ad Data onto Google BigQuery

You probably don’t care that the Looker data analysis platform just announced connectors to load data from AdWords, YouTube, and DoubleClick into the Google BigQuery data store. Neither do I.  But it’s an excuse to note that Looker and similar products are NOT substitutes for CDPs because they don’t unify customer identities when inputs lack a shared customer identifier. It’s an easy distinction to miss, and one that probably leads quite a few people down quite a few dead ends.  Consider yourself warned.

New Brand Safety Initiatives from IPG Mediabrands, IAS. Apology from DoubleVerify

It’s tough to get brand safety right, but the industry keeps trying.  IPG Mediabrands announced a new set of tools to find and block inappropriate ad placements, while IAS expanded its suitability measurements to include standards from the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM).  Meanwhile, DoubleVerify admitted a mistake made brand safety on X/Twitter look worse than it really was in October 2023 and March 2024.
