The Communications and Digital Ministry is expected to introduce and implement 5G by Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) along with added features by the end of March. DNB is doing its research on all available options to make sure the implementation will achieve over 80 per cent success and that it will be able to be expanded nationwide.
Digital banking across Southeast Asia continued to grow in 2022 and saw the launch of a wide range of innovative new brands, products, and services. In 2023, this growth in digital banking is expected to continue, with greater competition across the industry.
Brazil based Nubank, Latin America’s largest fintech aims to consolidate its growth in Colombia, where it has already issued 400,000 cards, with financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Since 2020, is the third country in LatAm where this fintech operates, which previously opened in Mexico (2019) and Brazil (2013), with more than 70 million customers. Greater financial inclusion is a must for economic growth, and digital banking will play a key role in meeting the needs of underbanked and unbanked retail customers in Colombia.
Just over one-third of marketers plan to either buy a new CDP (21%) or replace an existing one (13%) this year, according to this Optimove survey. Unfortunately, it doesn’t report how many have a CDP already in place, which would put the other values in perspective. It does seem that CDPs are a relatively low priority: they rank sixth on the list of new systems and eighth on the list of systems to replace.
