ONEcount Adds Business Intelligence Capabilities

CDP ONEcount has added a collection of business intelligence tools to its offerings.  The additions will provide a unified dashboard for customer engagement data, custom visualizations, and automated reporting.  ONEcount already offers a range of modules for data management, segmentation, and execution targeted at subscription and membership marketing.

IBM Sells Weather Company Assets to Private Equity Group

When IBM bought The Weather Company in 2015, it seemed an odd fit but made sense as supporting an internet-of-things, big data, analytical business.  But IBM’s latest positioning is a “hybrid cloud and AI” company, so they are selling most Weather Company assets to private equity firm Francisco Partners, which has its fingers in many tech company pies.  IBM will keep The Weather Company’s environmental intelligence suite and retain access to weather data.

Salesforce Buys Airkit.ai for Automated Customer Service

Salesforce is buying Airkit.ai, which builds low-code, AI-powered e-commerce customer service agents.  You might have thought Salesforce could already do that, but presumably Airkit does it better.  It doesn’t hurt that the company founders sold a previous business to Salesforce, the company was partly funded by Salesforce Ventures, and the product is already listed on AppExchange.  Price was not announced.
