Customer experience software vendor Pegasystems also makes extensive use of AI but its latest announcement is an API that makes it easier for (human) developers to create interfaces that include Pega functionality. The idea is to access existing Pega user interface functions and process flows instead of recreating them from scratch.
CDP Treasure Data is set to be bought by chip designer ARM Holdings for around $600 million, according to an unconfirmed Bloomberg report. It’s part of ARM’s strategy for Internet of Things. Treasure Data is especially good at dealing with large streams of semi-structured data, such as IoT devices produce. ARM, a SoftBank subsidiary, licenses semi-conductor chip designs and related intellectual property to semi-conductor manufacturers. Presumably that’s who they expect will use Treasure Data.
Consumer expectations for customer experience are rising across the board, with youngest customers showing the fastest increases, according to a survey from Ipsos and Medallia. Microsoft has confirmed that Reddit has blocked its Bing search engine from crawling content; Reddit seems to have blocked DuckDuckGo too. Reddit content will still appear in Google search results, but then Google has paid Reddit $60 million to allow it to train its AI models on that content. Reddit says the block has nothing to do with the Google deal: okay.
