U.S. and European Managers Equally Worried About Impact of GDPR Non-Compliance

Reports that most businesses won’t be ready for GDPR are so common they’re barely worth mentioning. But this survey from NetApp stands out because they gave country-by-country breakdowns and found, quite surprisingly, that U.S. firms see more harm from non-compliance than their European counterparts. Customer Experience is Top Priority for Most Marketers: Winterberry Group / DMA Study

Customer experience is a priority at 95% of companies and a top priority at 57% of companies surveyed by Winterberry Group for the Data & Marketing Association (DMA). The top reason was customer expectations for personalization, cited by 72%. What’s really interesting here is detail on marketer priorities: for example, 62% rate segmentation as the top priority within campaign management, compared with 54% for customer journey mapping and 39% for trigger-based communications.

No one really doubts that real-time data is useful, but here’s more concrete data in case you’ve been arguing the point: this Confluent survey of IT leaders finds 63% of companies with widespread access to real-time data showed 10% or higher revenue growth, compared with just 44% of companies with only some access grew as fast.  Integrating multiple data sources was the most common obstacle to real-time access, cited by 60% of respondents.
