ZineOne is yet another web personalization tool, specializing in personalized shopping experiences for anonymous website visitors.  Experiences can be tailored using in-session behavior can begin after as few as five clicks.  They just raised a $28 million Series C, bringing total funding to $43 million.

Online grocery shopping is at special risk as buyers return to squeezing melons in person.  Instacart’s response is to evolve from a shopping service to a “grocery technology company”.  They just announced their second acquisition in a week, this time of Rosie, an e-commerce platform that mostly serves independent grocers.

Martech keeps taking larger bites out of marketing budgets: 17.3% last year, 19.9% this year, 23.5% next year, and 30.9% five years from now, according to the latest CMO Survey. This despite barely more than half (56.4%) of current tools being used and nearly half (48.8%) of the survey respondents reporting worse-than-expected results. Oddly enough, marketers rate selecting marketing technologies as the thing they do best.
