Close to nine in 10 Australians want lies in political ads outlawed

An Australia Institute survey of 1,547 voters found the vast majority, nearly nine in ten, want lies and misinformation in ads stopped, and they believe it’s up to the Australian government to find new solutions to close the gap. More locally in South Australia, the electoral commission already has the right to request that inaccurate or misleading political ads should be withdrawn.
