Computer chip design firm Arm Ltd officially announced it is buying CDP Treasure Data. We reported this on Tuesday but now it’s clear that Treasure Data will continue to sell its CDP to marketers, even as Arm uses Treasure Data technology as part of its initiative to manage Internet of Things data. Just some random items today. Let’s start with news that CDP AgilOne has launched an integration with display ad targeting vendor Criteo. AgilOne users will be able to send lists to Criteo to send Web display ad campaigns.
Sticking with product news, telecom-focused customer engagement vendor Flytxt has launched Robo-X, an AI assistant that offers marketers advice about marketing opportunities. AI advisors for marketers are becoming quite common. Flytxt is another system that we don’t list as a CDP but probably could.
Just over half of consumers (54%) like to receive personalized messages because they show the consumers are known to the brand, plus they can be time savers. The rest (46%) find it at best unimportant, at worst creepy. Relevance far outstrips personalization when it comes to driving email opens (54% vs. 19%). Takeaway: treat each customer the way they prefer.
