Children’s Privacy: Teen medical records found accessible to parents and guardians in JAMA Network Open study

A study from the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) Network Open reveals more than half adolescent accounts from multiple children’s hospitals allowed inappropriate access to children’s medical records to their parents and guardians. Concerns are that this is not in compliance with federal regulation or state consent laws and also risks teens not trusting that they have confidentiality, so won’t seek care they need.

Mobile Ad Movement: IronSource Buys Tapjoy and inMobi Buys Appsumer

If you think about it more than one should, mobile app advertising is also a type of retail network. Which brings us to a pair of acquisitions: App business platform IronSource is buying mobile app monetization platform Tapjoy for $400 million, and mobile marketing platform InMobi is buying app analytics vendor Appsumer. You may recall it was just last week that AppLovin bought MoPub (something we reported backwards, it pains me to admit).

Alembic Builds Auto-Generated Time Series to Measure Content Impact

We’re not geeky enough to note that William Shatner was launched into space today, but we will report the launch of an AI-based system for marketing attribution.  Alembic ingests content and related web, mobile, social, and news, transaction and conversion events; converts it all into a time series; and estimates the impact of influencers, campaigns, and channels.  Who said there’s no intelligent life on this planet?
