Despite raising $55 million Series A in 2021, MaxAB, the food and grocery B2B e-commerce and distribution platform serving a network of traditional retailers across Egypt and Morocco, has raised a pre-Series B fund of $40 million to continue growth due to the rising demand for food and groceries and fuel its expansion across the MENAP region.

Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, announced collaborations with GiftAbled, an organization that empowers people with disabilities; Skillible, an upskilling platform to help women start or restart their careers post a long break and the Pride Circle Foundation, a non-profit that works actively to uplift, and empower the LGBTQIA+ community in India. These collaborations aim to strengthen Salesforce India’s commitment to ensuring inclusion and diversity in the Salesforce ecosystem.

Swiss multinational biotech giant Roche Pharma has set up a state-of-the-art Global Analytics and Technology Centre of Excellence (GATE) in Hyderabad, making it the company’s second data analytics centre in India. With the latest expansion, GATE will have a total headcount of 100 by the end of 2022 and has expansion plans as well.

Oracle launched a unique Cloud infrastructure platform that will enable partners and organisations, including in India, to become cloud providers and provide more than 100 services available on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to their own customers wherever they are. Called ‘Oracle Alloy,’ the new Cloud platform is a key announcement for India since the company has a lot of existing customers there, operating in the regulated industries.

ActionIQ has launched a collection of features aimed at customer acquisition programs, including integration with identity vendors, data clean rooms, walled gardens including Facebook and Google, and demand side platforms. Acquisition marketing has recently emerged as a major application for CDPs, which had previously been focused on activating data about current customers.

A landmark case, believed to be the first jury verdict in an Illinois privacy biometrics case, has entered a $228 million judgement against BNSF Railway favoring the 45,000-member class-action. While BNSF plans to appeal, if the decision holds, each class action member could get approximately $5,000.
