Half of IT Leaders Are Comfortable with Non-Tech Staff Building Their Own Apps

May 16, 2023
You may recall we reported last week that half of CIOs said their “citizen development” programs had failed, despite (or maybe because of) using low-code technology.  This Jitterbit survey shows something similar: 51% of IT respondents were very or extremely comfortable with non-IT employees using low-code app building tools.  You won’t be surprised that many more marketers (72%) of marketers felt it was just fine.

Whistleblower accuses Google of violating EU data retention laws

May 16, 2023
It’s easy (and sometimes convenient) not to delete data – but don’t! Americans very concerned about AI-generated news

May 16, 2023
Bospar, a PR and marketing firm, published a survey about ChatGPT, AI and the news. From the perspective of the more than 1,000 US adult survey participants, 74% believe a quarter or more of the news will be generated by AI by 2025, and 93% expressed some fear for the future because of that. When asked its potential to affect the news, respondents said generative... Read More >

May 16, 2023
“Child labor” conjures images of kids working in factories or fields – and it goes far back through human history. Alarms have been raised about lines blurring between marketing to children, marketing by children, and recently the cultivation of them as super... Read More >

Meta Previews AI-Based Ad Tools

May 15, 2023
It’s a rare day that we can say something nice about Meta. But we seem to mention every other company’s generative AI offerings, so it’s only fair to report that they’ve set up an “AI Sandbox” to test new advertiser tools, and have pre-announced several that will make it easier to create different versions of ad materials. Features include text variations, text-to-image background generation, and image cropping. General availability is targeted towards the end of this year.
