Calix Adds External Data to Real-Time Broadband Customer Information

It’s charming that the industry term for Wireless Internet Service Providers is WISPs.   If you already knew that, you probably know that Calix offers systems to support that industry and other types of broadband providers.  They just launched Marketing Cloud Plus, which lets providers enhance real-time customer data with demographic, psychographic, and geographic data.  It’s CDP-ish, so we can call it another example of an industry-specific CDP.

Uber, DoorDash and Volta Expand Ad Delivery

We do have a convoy of stories related to transportation ads. Uber has launched an advertising division that will, among other things, target ads at individuals based on data it collects across its mobility and delivery businesses. You remember consenting to that, right? Also “electric vehicle (“EV”) charging and media company” Volta is making its ads available programmatically using Vistar Media technology. And delivery company DoorDash has also expanded its self-service ad platform.

Two-Thirds of Companies Use Customer Data Only in Marketing: Merkle Study

This Merkle report on customer engagement contains a hail of factoids.  Item one: under one-third of companies use customer data throughout their organization; the rest (68%) limit it primarily to marketing.  Item two: ownership of the customer experience tech stack is split almost evenly between IT (54%) and marketing (48%, and yes that totals 102%).  Item three: the biggest hurdles to CDP use are implementation (27%) and bad data (24%); the lowest are strategy (9%), use case delivery (5%), and lack of central ownership (2%).

Criteo launches its Connected TV solution in Australia

Criteo, whose CTV solution uses its unique audiences and robust access to data alongside full-funnel management and full-service support to help customers achieve measurable outcomes, is expanding into Australia. The use of CTV as a retail and marketing tool is growing in Australia. Criteo’s recent Shopper Story Survey research results showed nearly a quarter (24%) of Australians actively used the technology in 2021, which was up from 18% in 2019.

Nielsen incorporates YouTube measurement for three markets in SEA

Nielsen has unveiled the incorporation of YouTube measurement for desktop and mobile within its Total Ad Ratings (TAR) solution across three additional markets in APAC – Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.  Nielsen will be providing cross-platform metrics on which media buyers and sellers can transact. This will now allow advertisers to measure YouTube inventory in their cross-media campaigns in a total of seven markets globally, which are Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Italy, the United States, and France.

Colombian Voice AI platform Vozy raises US$5M

Colombian startup Vozy, a Voice AI Platform in Latin America raised a US$5 million Pre-Series A funding round. Vozy has positioned itself as the leading Voice AI solution in LatAm through the development of a technological infrastructure based on three products or layers: Lili, the conversational assistant, Speech Analytics for conversation analysis, and Voice Biometrics for user identification. With its platform, the startup serves over 150 corporate clients in more than sixteen countries.
